Alpha Gamma Delta
Theta Mu Chapter
Chapter Philanthropy
The Theta Mu Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta has been nationally recognized as a Jewel Society. We have been awarded this honor because of our generous contributions each year exceeding $2,000.  In the year of 2008 we were the 4th highest raising chapter in the entire nation donating about $6400. During the Spring semester of 2010, Theta Mu hosted the first annual Spaghetti Dinner. The money
raised from this event went to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation. The
Theta Mu Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta, along with the Delta Tau Delta
Fraternity, hosted its third annual Mr. and Ms. Greek in the fall of 2010.
Mr. and Ms. Greek is a scholarship pageant for both men and women of
the UNCW Greek community. Money was raised through ticket sales,
raffles, donations, and sponsorships. The money raised from Mr. and Ms.
Greek also went to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation.  We have raised
$5000 with Mr. and Ms. Greek both years and  the event won Community
Service Program of the Year in 2008, its first year! Our chapter is also
involved in the community working with the Wilmington JDRF chapter.
International Philanthropy
The Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation was eastablished in 1962. Alpha Gamma Delta was the first women's fraternity to establish a philanthropy. The foundation was created to ensure that Alpha Gamma Delta's mission would live on into its second century. The Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation's mission is to impact and enrich the community by providing essential support for education, philanthropy, and leadership. Its purpose is to allow women of all ages to make positive differences on their campus and in their communities -- leaving a legacy for generations of women to follow.
